Six Albums & Seven ProjectsLithonia, Georgia rapper Zane Smith released his sixth studio album “Mr. Roy G. Biv” on June 24, 2020. Titled with a new alias, Zane Smith is now Mr. Roy Biv due to his background in graphic design. Previous albums “(SWATCHES, black, REBEL(red) and gray) have also been named after colors, each used to describe and portray different moods.
With this album, Zane Smith creates a sound like never before working with various producers. The album cover art features nine colors, representing the nine songs on the album. Each song is associated with a different color and mood. This collection of tracks is an emotional roller coaster of sounds, subjects and lyrics showcasing Zane’s versatility and growth as an artist. |

While working as a Zoo Atlanta Rides Attendant by day and a graphic design intern at Patchwerk Recording Studios by night, Zane Smith received an email from producer Petrofsky Beats. One night at the studio, Zane heard the beat, wrote a hook and went from there.

Turmoil in previous albums and songs from Zane Smith about his passion for a career in music and making a living had been in conflict with his parents. He finally left with a book-bag and a few items, never turning back. From having slept outside, stayed in a homeless shelter, worked a temp job, and stayed in a rooming house, Zane Smith climbed his way out homelessness. The song "ZOO" released while Zane Smith was in the Atlanta Mission homeless shelter in Downtown Atlanta.
The lyrics and motto "FAITH+GRIND" stand out in the song "Zoo", because that's exactly what Zane Smith needed to make it out of that situation.
