Rapper Zane Smith spits a freestyle over Kendrick Lamar’s “HiiiPoWeR” produced by J. Cole.
On April 1, 2017, Lithonia, Georgia rapper Zane Smith released his first mixtape titled “Poetic Justice.”
This April Fool’s Day joke is a story-like mixtape taking inspiration from the 1993 film Poetic Justice starring Janet Jackson and Tupac Shakur. Radio host DJ Smizzy helps Zane Smith be heard on the radio among many bad artists. The audio narrative attempts to recognize and provide justice to a true poet, Zane Smith. In mixtape Poetic Justice, Lithonia, Georgia rapper Zane Smith produces song “Money Like Daniel” for old friend, Philly Freeze. This parody song takes aim at both the content of popular rap songs and the content in the music video itself. The song’s music video displays “achievements” just like in video games, suggesting, these are all the qualifications for an artist to blow up in the mainstream. |
